a fine pair

That's right: it's a pair of grandbabies coming up! WaHoo! Monique is due in early Nov. and Adele in mid-Feb. Every time I work with a young kid in my office, I imagine my g-bb being that age and rockin' with gramps. Yow! Who knows where the time goes...
Soon we shall be traveling back to the homeland (Ca.) and meeting up with Justin. We are excited about giving him his first wine tour, and hope to hook up with Joey Wagner at Caymus. Well, this blog wasn't the Nolen blog it was cracked up to be, but ya know, maybe the real writers are just too played out by the time they get home. Heck, that's OK, I've rarely been at a loss for words....... j.

p.s. In the post a time or two down, I really meant 4.5 MILLION gallons. 4.5 gallons would be a tiny bit undersized.... Balmorrea, Texas. July 4th, 2008.

Headin' North from Marathon, Texas. When we eventually passed 3 cars in a couple of minutes, I wondered if something was going on.....

We traveled to far away Marfa, Texas for our son-in-law's art exhibit. We saw the famous and mysterious marfa lights, swam like little fishies in the incredible Balmorrea spring-fed pool (4.5 ga.), had a fine time with darling Monique and John, and just generally had a mighty fine time. Happy 4th of July (2008)!

Detroit Cuties

7/08
I sure am tired of seeing baby Adele inhale all the spagetti everytime I look at this deserted web site!! I won't eat it for years now. We recently returned from a memorable drive from Texas to Detroit to see Jonathan and Adele's house.

Cute house, cute l'il newly weds. One hellatiously long drive, but worth every rotation of our tires.

Wedding countdown

Although Adele was originally quite a picky eater, she really enjoyed the experience. Fortunately she also enjoyed taking a bath, so clean up was fairly painless. In three days, THIS baby is going to be a cool married woman! WaHoo!

Whoa, it's already Easter

In addition to Easter sneaking up on us, JJ (Jonathan, as some of you know him) and I are getting married in 13 days! I can't even believe it. Let's all pray for warm weather, delicious food, and some good ole' Nolen dancing. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone. Those of you who won't be in attendance, y'all will be missed and I promise to post some pictures on here after we return from Costa Rica!!

Does anyone else see likeness between Mr. Franz and Mr. Sommer? Minus the 'stash and 25 lbs.!

I love this photo from Matt & Lucy's wedding.

NFB (Nolen Family Blog) post #1

Welcome to the first Nolen Family Blog post. Over nice wine and shrimp etouffee tonight, Mamma (Denise) and I came up with this idea...a blog where all our family members are authors..so we can keep in touch on a day-to-day basis. What's more important than family?? Nothing I say to you!

I do not have the following family members' addresses, so please email or post them on this site so I can invite them to be authors:
Aaron, Adri, Julian, Marshall, Marina & Alyssa.

Only I can authorize authors, but anyone in the world can read this blog...so keep that in mind when you post. We're keeping the authors to immediate family only but this can be expanded in the future. I hope everyone will enjoy this site and please write often. Uncle Tad..I'm expecting only the best writing from you!!
